Nokia N86 vs Nokia N97

What do you think are the pros and cons being implemented any of these hot cool phones which are Nokia N86 and Nokia N97? Although these phones are already a hot gadget in any of the mobile phone stores around you in town, but what are their differences anyway, in which the buyer itself would compare on who will be the best phone around. Anyway, let’s compare the Nokia N86 and the Nokia N97.

When it comes to dimensions, Nokia N86 has the advantage because it is slightly smaller and lighter which the measurements of of 103.4 x 51.4 x 16.5-18.5mm, and the weight and volume are only 149g and 84 cc whereas Nokia N97 has measurements 117.2 x 55.3 x 15.9-18.25 mm, with a weight and volume of 150g and 88 cc. When it comes to 3D and display, Nokia N97 once again scores, as the size is much bigger which 3.5 in inches, than Nokia N86’s 2.6 in inches. It also has a high resolution of 640 x 360 pixels, resistive touch screen with separate touch foil and touch feedback, which Nokia N86 has no feature like that, and the high resolution is only 320 x 240 pixels, and all of the other features related to this section are just the same.

If we differentiate them through keys and input method, it was Nokia N86 now has the score, with eight features which includes numeric keypads, cover keys, slide show keys, dedicated media/zoom/game keys, dedicated camera and volume keys and voice commands, especially the keypad lock switch and the charging indicator LED with breathing menu key, compared to Nokia N97’s only five features within this section which are composed of full slide out keyboard, cover keys, touch screen, four way navigation key and the dedicated camera and volume keys.

In color cases of these phones, Nokia N97 has two available colors like the transition black and the white one, while Nokia N86 only has one color available which is the indigo. When it comes to connectors, both have the same function which they have a micro-USB connector with mass storage class support, high speed USB 2.0, and 3.5mm AV connector which are compatible to any of these phones.

The internal memory of Nokia N97 is much bigger which has a total of 32 GB compared to only 16 GB for N86, but their microSD memory card slots are the same as usual. For comparison to data networks in either of these two hot phones, Nokia N97 once again took the lead with three features that includes class A GPRS with a class 32 multislot, WCDMA and HSPDA with a maximum speed of 3.6 Mbps each, and WLAN IEEE 802.11 b/g with a maximum speed up to 11 Mbps, compared to N86’s only features were integrated GPS and A-GPS with Nokia Maps 3.0 application.

In terms of camera, the N97 has a 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, LED flash and autofocus. The N86 8MP has an 8MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, dual-LED flash and variable aperture. Video recording is same in both at 30fps in VGA resolution.

Nokia N97 is just like a mini notebook laptop which you can type in landscape through the use of landscape keyboarding. Their features when it comes to calls, messaging and internet are just being different from each other in unique ways, but still N97 dominates over N86’s features. It really doesn’t matter on which phone will you choose and decide to take, and there’s nothing wrong about it, as long as you know their pros and cons, you can decide easily, and both of these phones are cool to handle with.
